Best: Trading for Mark Jackson, Twice

Mark Jackson was so important to the Pacers’ success in the 90s that the Pacers actually traded for him twice. On June 30, 1994, the Pacers traded Pooh Richardson, Malik Sealy, and Eric Piatkowski to the LA Clippers for Jackson and Greg Minor.

The Pacers then made a mistake and traded Jackson to the Denver Nuggets for Jalen Rose before the 1996-97 season. The Pacers fell apart without Jackson on the court. Just months later the Pacers again traded for Jackson. This trade deadline deal sent Vincent Askew, Eddie Johnson, and two second-round picks to the Nuggets for Jackson and LaSalle Thompson.

Jackson is the best point guard to ever play for the Pacers. The Pacers realized this too, which is why they felt the need to trade for him again so quickly. During his tenure with the Pacers, he averaged 8.4 points and 8.1 assists per game. It is only a shame that he was not able to wear the blue and gold for more than six seasons.
