Taking a closer look at five teams that will likely take a step back during the 2020-21 NBA season.

For the time being, we still don’t know if the NBA will be able to conclude the 2019-20 season, and if so, what that’ll look like or entail. The hope is that we at least get to have a playoff and are able to crown a champion, but even that is an unknown as we approach the two-month point of the hiatus.

Despite what happens or how the 2019-20 campaign is concluded, the expectation is that there will be a 2020-21 season. Whether it starts as originally planned or has an adjusted calendar remains to be seen.

As is the case at the turn of every NBA year, there will be both teams that take steps back and ones that take steps forward. First, we’ll take a closer look at a few teams that could see a bit of a regression during the 2020-21 season.

For a myriad of reasons, here are five teams that won’t be as good next season as they were this year.
