Taking a closer look at three big takeaways from episodes 5 and 6 of Michael Jordan’s ‘The Last Dance’

Before we get to a few of the biggest takeaways, let’s take a quick look back at what transpired in episode 5 and 6 of ESPN’s “The Last Dance.”

Episode 5 opens with touching footage of Kobe Bryant talking about the impact that Michael Jordan had on him. It continues with an inside look at the 1998 All-Star game in which Kobe Bryant was showcased and featured.

The documentary then shifted to the impact the Air Jordan 1’s had on modern culture, and the decision to sign with Nike at the time. The footage then shifted to the 1992 Dream Team, highlighting the snubbing of Isiah Thomas.

Then, we finally get Toni Kukoc and the story about him vs. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in the 1992 Olympics.

Episode 6 opens with an inside look to what it is the “Be Mike” on a day-to-day basis, from the constant spotlight to media he deals with. It then pivots to the impact that Sam Smith‘s “The Jordan Rules” had on Michael.

The doc then moves to the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals series against the New York Knicks and Michael’s gambling. The episode concludes with the story of the 1993 NBA Finals and how the three-straight NBA Finals runs were wearing on Mike.
