Kendrick Nunn, Miami Heat

When the Miami Heat signed Kendrick Nunn towards the end of the 2018-19 NBA season, no one could’ve foreseen the player that he would be at the end of the 2019-20 season. Or perhaps the Heat did. Nunn was still much of an unknown to Heat fans until coach Erik Spoelstra announced his opening night starting lineup.

Nunn didn’t take long to make his presence known and to make the organization look like geniuses once again. Starting in every game he played in, Nunn averaged 16 points, three rebounds, and three assists per game on 45 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from 3-point range.

As the season progressed, Nunn became a key cog for the Heat. His ability to initiate offense and get a bucket when the team was struggling was extremely valuable to this fairly young team. Nunn is only going to get better, and will likely down as another hidden gem found in the G League by Miami.

Nunn is now a legit starting shooting guard in the NBA. Before the season, I’m not sure if anyone could’ve seen that coming.
