2. Utah Jazz

Best finish: NBA finalist (two times)

Iconic player(s): John Stockton, Karl Malone, Pete Maravich

Championship outlook: Good

It’s not outlandish to say that the Utah Jazz is the second-best franchise to never win an NBA Championship. After all, this is a team that nearly knocked off the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s and was arguably the biggest threat to Michael Jordan. In the current day, the Jazz also has quite the dynamic duo in Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert and have made the playoffs in each of the last three seasons.

The Jazz has made the playoffs in eight of the last 14 years and has made it to six conference finals over the course of their franchise’s history. The Jazz’s current championship outlook is good and will remain good as long as Mitchell is on the roster.

He’s looking more and more like a future superstar in the NBA, and will only get better. Utah has a big decision to make on the future of Gobert but has consistently been competitive in the West over the last decade and a half.
