10. Charlotte Hornets

Best finish: Conference semifinals (four times)

Iconic player(s): Alonzo Mourning, Kemba Walker, Mugsy Bouges, Larry Johnson

Championship outlook: Poor

The Charlotte Hornets have only made it to the second round of the playoffs four times and haven’t made it back to the postseason since the 2015-16 season. They were expected to miss the playoffs again before the hiatus. What makes their situation all the grimmer is the fact that they aren’t remotely close to contending.

They don’t currently have a franchise player on their roster and are on the verge of a complete rebuild. Their front office hasn’t done enough to put this franchise in a position to succeed and it’s had a trickle-down effect on the players.

I feel bad for their fans and I’m not sure if this current leadership will be able to turn their situation around any time soon. The Hornets will likely be bad for another few years before they can pivot towards success again.
