9. LA Clippers

Best finish: Conference semifinals (seven times)

Iconic player(s): Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Bob McAdoo, Elton Brand

Championship outlook: Excellent

You could make the argument that the LA Clippers should be ranked higher than No. 9 on this list, but considering the history of this franchise, I had a hard time placing this team any higher. Even though this is likely the team that is going to get off this list first, in large part to their current circumstance.

Before the NBA’s hiatus, the Clippers were one of the three teams that many thought could win the NBA Championship this season. In fact, you could argue that the Clippers were going to be the favorites to win the title behind Kawhi Leanard and Paul George.

The championship outlook for the Clippers is excellent. They will likely win one in the next three years and could potentially win multiple. The Clippers have notoriously been one of the NBA’s biggest losers, but that time might be over for the franchise.
