8. Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers ~ 11.8 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 1.1 APG, 45.1 FG%

There was a ton of potential for Myles Turner when he came into the NBA in 2015. An old school defensive big man with the ability to shoot from deep, what is not to love? Yet, in these five years, both Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis have paved the way as the best players for the Pacers. Keep in mind, Oladipo missed nearly an entire year with a quad injury and Turner could have stepped up in his absence. That did not happen.

He is a top 100 player at best when you take into account PER (14.7), boxed plus-minus (0.2), and win shares (3.7). In an Eastern Conference that usually struggles for all-star caliber talent, Turner is missing out on his chance to step forward.

7. Lauri Markkanen, Chicago Bulls ~ 14.7 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 1.5 APG, 42.5 FG%

There is no way around it, Lauri Markkanen took a major step back this season. He is averaging career lows in every major category and it is so disappointing when you consider the fact that this is a young seven-footer who should be a threat from all areas of the court. He should be one of the rising young stars in the league and be a clear sidekick for Zach LaVine.

Instead, we find Markkanen still finding his way. It will not take long before Chicago’s front office grows tired if he cannot make the jump to an elite level of play.
