6. Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors ~ 8.0 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 6.2 APG, 38.9 FG%

Draymond Green is considered the glue guy for the Golden State Warriors. While Steph and Klay run the offense, Draymond does all the little things. He is the ignition that starts the Warriors rolling and has been rewarded with multiple all-star appearances, a two-time All-NBA selection, and a three-time champ.

Now with the Splash Brothers both missing the majority of the season with their respective injuries, there would be a drop off in numbers for Green. He is not passing to guys who are all but guaranteed to knock down a shot. However, you would expect more of him despite this. Granted he had battled the injury bug as well, but when he was on the court he was largely ineffective. His PER and win share total is the second-lowest of his entire career.

Green also had a career-worst defensive rating and that is more telling since defense is his calling card. No one expected Green to carry more of an offensive burden, but he could have done a little more for Warriors than what actually appeared on paper.

5. Aaron Gordon, Orlando Magic ~ 14.4 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 3.7 APG, 43.3 FG%

It is time for us to take a look at the value of Aaron Gordon in terms of being a star in the NBA. If he is a serviceable forward with insane leaping ability, then he is doing his best work. If we are thinking of him as a cornerstone piece for the Orlando Magic, then you and I have to disagree.

Gordon’s numbers have regressed over the last three years. He is a liability from deep and just has more of an undefined offensive skillset. His usage rating has also taken a dip over the last few seasons so maybe the Magic are saying something by running the ball through other guys on the team. His win share totals this season put him in a category of dependable role players like Marcus Morris and Robert Covington. If that is how we are to see Gordon, then now is the time to do so.
