16. Minnesota Timberwolves (via Brooklyn) – Saddiq Bey, F, Villanova
After selecting Karl-Anthony Towns’ frontcourt mate in James Wiseman, another interesting prospect (this time a wing) lands in the hands of the Wolves at No.16. Saddiq Bey nearly doubled his statistical output from his freshman to sophomore seasons, in which he averaged 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists on 48 percent shooting from the field.
What makes Bey even more interesting is the fact that he’s also considered one of the better 3-point shooting in this draft class. Bey shot 45 percent from deep on nearly six attempts per contest.
With his great size, Bey could emerge as an ideal 3-and-D prospect in the new NBA. In an era where 3-and-D are treated like gold, the fact that the Wolves could come away with both Wiseman and Bey would be a huge win.
I’m not sure the Wolves could come away with a better haul.
