20. Brooklyn Nets (via Philadelphia) – Jaden McDaniels, F, Washington
The Brooklyn Nets are another team that many assume will be on the hunt for a championship next season once Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving return from injury. However, with somewhat of an unknown offseason ahead, it’s always great to add a potential contributor – and that’s what the Nets would be doing with Jaden McDaniels with the 20th pick.
McDaniels is coming off a season in which he averaged 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists per game during his rookie season at Washington. McDaniels is still a very raw prospect and could actually have the luxury of growing behind the scenes in Brooklyn.
Learning from Kevin Durant would be priceless, and he’d be joining a pretty solid frontcourt group in Brooklyn. McDaniels could play both forward positions and has the tools it takes to a valuable commodity for any team. As is almost always the case at this point in the draft, however, there are no guarantees.
