NBA Monday Social: Celebrating Mother’s Day around the Association

Mother’s Day is a special holiday. For this edition of NBA Monday Social, Sir Charles In Charge goes around the league for the celebration.

Motherhood is many things. It can be messy, loud, chaotic, tiring, colorful, comical, challenging but above all it is beautiful. However, this is the opinion of an outsider. Therefore, I hope I summed things up accurately. If not, here are some stellar posts below that speak much louder than my words.

Before jumping into some feel-good posts, it’s important to address the most touching post of the holiday courtesy of Karl-Anthony Towns who lost his mom to COVID-19 last month. Towns shared the raw video honoring his late mom set to the fitting song A Song for Mama by the everlasting group Boyz II Men. The 4:02 clip showed various images and videos of Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Towns, most with Towns himself. The video can be viewed here.

Following Jackie’s death, many NBA peers and the Minnesota Governor passed along their condolences to the grieving Towns’ family. Further displaying the family environment spread throughout the association.
