1. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
How could Giannis Antetokounmpo not be No. 1? He’s led the Milwaukee Bucks to the NBA’s best record at 53-12 while making them a clear-cut favorite to win it all before the season was postponed. His 29.6 points per game were third in the NBA and he also grabbed 13.7 rebounds, career-highs in both categories.
His combination of size, strength, and pure athleticism makes him the most feared player in the league on both ends of the court. He can rise above any defender and throw down a vicious dunk, but also pull up and hit a jumper, a part of his game that has evolved over the last two years.
The Greek Freak has the highest usage rate in the NBA at 37 percent and he’s basically the reason that Milwaukee is such a good team right now. After winning MVP last season, Antetokounmpo was well on his way to another in 2019-20.
But even if the season doesn’t resume, expect the 25-year-old to win numerous Most Valuable Player awards in the future as he inches closer to his best years, both physically and mentally. Without a doubt, Antetokounmpo was the best player in the association this season.
