Taking a closer look at each lottery team and their biggest needs, and potential prospect fits, leading up to the 2020 NBA Draft

The 2020 NBA Draft isn’t exactly being built up to be the 2003 NBA Draft – which is arguably considered the best draft class in NBA history. In all likelihood, we won’t look back on this class and marvel at all the Hall of Fame players that it produced, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t quality players to be had.

The upside may not be particularly exciting, but there are a lot of players in this draft that should turn out to have long NBA careers and contribute to winning teams.

In most drafts, I typically don’t believe in drafting for need or team fit at the top. There’s a reason you’re at the top of a draft, and it’s because your roster looks more like swiss cheese with all of its holes than one that’s one piece away from competing. But this year is a little different. Without the star power at the top, a prospect’s fit may be the most important element for this year’s class.

To find the right fit, you have to be able to accurately evaluate your needs. So let’s start that evaluation with the team that has no business having the highest lottery odds: the Golden State Warriors.
