Washington Wizards

Biggest need: 3-and-D wing

Players to target: Devin Vassell, Aaron Nesmith

There wasn’t a non-playoff team that was more fun to watch this year than the Washington Wizards. They were able to produce an offensive efficiency in the top half of the league while also having one of the fast paces of play in the NBA.

So why are they securely locked into a lottery pick? To put it nicely, they struggle at the part of the game where you try to stop the other team from putting the ball in the basket. Finding a player who can play reliable team defense is important, but if they can find one who can also fit their identity on the offensive end that would be ideal.

It’s looking more and more likely that John Wall will be back again for the 2020-21 season, but considering the severity of his injury and the fact that he hasn’t played since December of 2018, I think it’s fair to have tempered expectations.

That being said, the team is saying all the right things and seems to expect that he’ll be the same old John Wall when he comes back. If that’s the case, surrounding him and Bradley Beal with a wing that can get stops and hit open shots would be a perfect fit.
