Phoenix Suns

Biggest need: Long-term point guard

Players to target: Killian Hayes, Cole Anthony, Kira Lewis

The Phoenix Suns were able to, against all odds, convince Devin Booker to sign there long-term and have him locked in through the 2023-24 season. Now it’s time to give Booker something to get excited about by drafting a guard that can grow into the role of being his long-term backcourt mate.

Signing Ricky Rubio the last offseason finally gave Booker a reliable point guard to play with, but Rubio’s timeline doesn’t match up with the rest of the team. He’s a temporary fix, but with two years left on his contract, he could be a great mentor for their point guard of the future.

If the Suns have some luck in the lottery they’ll more or less have their pick of the litter in a deep point guard class, but they need to get it right. Booker will be heading into his 6th season next year and it’s time for them to start being more competitive.
