Biggest need: Best player available

Players to target: LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards

Ideally, the Cleveland Cavaliers would want a high upside wing to pair with their young guards, but I don’t think that exists this high in the draft. The best players in this class are guards, and when you have as many needs as the Cavs, you take the best player available regardless of position.

Sure, the Cavs might be excited about their guard pair of Collin Sexton and Darius Garland, but those two are far from a sure thing and aren’t really wired to facilitate an offense. In fact, Sexton makes my “The Rest Of You Don’t Get To Shoot Tonight” All-Stars along with Zach LaVine, Jordan Clarkson, Carmelo Anthony, and Terrence Ross.

Adding a facilitator like LaMelo Ball to this group could be beneficial for the other score-first guards on this team. And while Anthony Edwards isn’t John Stockton, his physical profile and skill set provide a long-term upside greater than anyone else currently on this roster.
