Charlotte Hornets

Biggest need: Frontcourt help

Players to target: Onyeka Okongwu, James Wiseman

The Charlotte Hornets have been in cap hell the past few years but finally, have light at the end of the tunnel. Per Spotrac, Bismack Biyombo‘s $17 million, Marvin Williams‘ $14 million, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist‘s $12 million cap hits all come off the books at the conclusion of this season. Nicolas Batum still has a $27 million player option which seems like a mortal lock to be picked up, but the Hornets are close to having a *relatively* clean balance sheet for the first time in years.

Given their current roster, the Hornets are another team that would probably be wise to just pick the best player available. but if either Okongwu or Wiseman is still on the board for them they could pick up one of the best players on the board and fill a roster need.

The Hornets still have a long way to go in their rebuild, but picking up a 2-way big man with a high upside would be a step in the right direction.
