How do the 2019 NBA rookie-max extensions look now?
The 2019 NBA Free Agency period was one of the most eventful in recent memory. Among the huge signings and player movement, three teams issued rookie-scale max extensions to players coming off of their rookie deals.
Before the contract extension deadline in 2019, Pascal Siakam, Jamal Murray, and Ben Simmons all signed rookie-scale max extensions on their contracts. Each of these deals had their own concerns, and each team certainly took a gamble. How do these deals look now that (almost) a season has passed since?
In order to really make a conclusion, we’d have to look at the criticisms of each of these players at the time of signing and compare it to their performance over this past season.
