Indiana Pacers draft mistake: drafting Miles Plumlee

In the 2012 NBA Draft the Pacers drafted center Miles Plumlee out of Duke. He only played one season for the Pacers and saw action in just 14 games. He averaged 0.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per game during that time. Notable players that were drafted after Plumlee were Draymond Green, Mike Scott, Jae Crowder, Will Barton, and Kris Middleton.

The Pacers had seen enough after one season. Due to Plumlee’s underwhelming production, the organization packaged him, forward Gerald Green, and a future first-round pick and sent them to the Suns for Luis Scola.

Since then, Plumlee has played for four different organizations: the Suns, Bucks, Hornets, and Hawks. He last played for the 2019-20 Hawks as their third-string center.
