Helping the community is nothing new for Russell Westbrook. With that said, his latest community assist may be one of his best yet!

Current Houston Rockets star Russell Westbrook has been helping his local NBA city and his hometown of Los Angeles dating back to his early Thunder years. From hosting two separate annual turkey dinners in his host city and LA to personally feeding the homeless via food truck rental of one of Oklahoma City’s best kitchens on wheels, titled the Saucee Sicilian.

Last but not the least, remember seven ago when Russ’ former teammate Kevin Durant garnered all the praise for donating $1 million dollars to the victims of the May 20th storm that devastated the city of Moore Oklahoma? Westbrook also made a donation. However, because his contribution was undisclosed amount Westbrook received virtually zero praise for his generous act.

Fittingly, on the seventh anniversary of the destructive tornado Westbrook spent the evening feeding healthcare hero’s at MLK Community Hospital in LA his caption read this:

"Last night I helped provide meals to the nurses in the ICU & Covid Units at my hometown hospital, MLK Community Hospital. Extremely humbling to be able to do this and we appreciate all your hard work during this time. Thank you for all that you do! #whynot @whynotfoundation"

In life, it’s important to start with baby steps. This week, the late great Kobe Bryant’s youngest daughter Capri took her first steps, and proud mama Vanessa Bryant shared the marvelous moment on her Instagram feed.
