Golden State Warriors key No. 2: The draft pick

The Warriors got lucky. They fell apart in the year of a pandemic and while the lottery is still a while away they are practically guaranteed a top-five pick. Now even though this draft is not standing to be particularly strong, one player stands out to me as someone who would be dangerous with the Warriors: Tyrese Haliburton.

Haliburton is a 6-foot-5 player who can project to play positions 1-3 in the Warriors system. For some reason when I look at him, I just can’t help but think he could be Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala rolled up in one.

His length and wingspan could project him to be a plus defender on the perimeter which will bring the team much of what Iguodala gave them during the title runs. His passing ability could make him a strong bench distributor much like Livingston was. Add to that Haliburton’s steady 3-point shot and ability to play both on-and-off ball he would fit perfectly with the Warriors stars.

Overall, Halliburton is a prospect that would fit perfectly with everything the Warriors do and seems to be an unselfish player that wouldn’t mind sharing the court with stars.
