Indiana Pacers best draft-day move: Drafting Lance Stephenson
Make ‘em dance Lance. Lance Stephenson was drafted out of Cincinnati with the 10th pick of the second round in the 2010 NBA Draft. Stephenson slid in the draft and the Pacers are grateful that he did. The fans soon fell in love with the triple-doubles and the unbelievable passing display that Stephenson put on.
Even more, they fell in love with his intensity and his antics. From blowing in LeBron James‘ ear to flopping, to his guitar celebration the fans learned to love every second of it.
Lance Stephenson endeared himself to Indiana. He became a consistent starter and then an impressive sixth man off the bench. In his two stints that spanned for six seasons with the blue and gold, he averaged 9.1 points, 3.1 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game. The fan-favorite seemed to love Indiana and the fans seemed to love him right back.
There was so much love that there may have been discussions between Stephenson and the Pacers for another return to Indiana this season before the suspension of the league. Maybe Stephenson will someday be a Pacer again.
