Philadelphia 76ers potential trade partner No. 4: Houston Rockets

Vasilije Micic’s tape screamed Daryl Morrey when watching it. He is always either taking a 3 or driving to basket. For a team that, like the Warriors, sports one of the highest-paid backcourts in NBA history, Micic could be an excellent fit to be backup James Harden and Russell Westbrook so neither player needs to play 36-40 minutes a game.

Micic’s abilities would be great so that Harden and Russell can split their time on the floor and save playing together for crunch time minutes. Also in the future, if Houston wants to rest one of their stars, Micic could come in and start for a couple of games.

The one concern would be the head coach’s Mike D’Antoni and his status with the team. While all the other teams I mentioned have stability in the head-coaching spot, D’Antoni’s potential departure could result in Micic not being used at all if acquired.

I think it is worth the risk for Daryl Morrey to do everything it takes to win with James Harden and acquiring a player that may not cost much and could have an extremely high upside is a move he needs to make. Micic could also be a long-term piece for the Rockets if at any point they decide to blow it up at any point in the near future.
