2. New York Knicks – Killian Hayes, G, Ratiopharm Ulm

Short of the New York Knicks making a trade for Chris Paul, and there’s probably more of a chance that they don’t than they do, there’s a strong chance that the point guard position will be at the top of their wishlist when they go on the clock at the 2020 NBA Draft. Ideally, the Knicks would love to land LaMelo Ball.

However, picking at No. 2, in this scenario, Ball will be off the board. That leaves the Knicks with a big decision to make – should they simply take the best player available (a proven protocol that has worked for many teams over the years) or if they should take the second-best point guard still on their board.

Knowing the Knicks, I’d lean toward them doing to latter. Assuming that they’d be willing to make a bit of a splash at the draft, and depending on how they pre-draft process plays out, the Knicks could target Killian Hayes, a versatile offensive-minded guard from overseas.

Hayes is a certified playmaker and would be an ideal guard to stick next to RJ Barrett. He could legitimately end up being the second or third-best player to emerge from this draft class.
