29. Los Angeles Lakers – Jared Butler, G, Baylor
With their late first-round pick, it’s likely that the Los Angeles Lakers will consider adding to their backcourt. The question is, how could be the ideal prospect? For one, the Lakers should probably consider two types of guards.
On one hand, the Lakers should probably target a playmaker. However, those might be difficult to come by at No. 29 overall. Secondarily, another option is a 3-and-D guard that won’t get run off the floor in crunch time.
That’s where Jared Butler could emerge as a true candidate for the Lakers. Butler is coming off a sophomore season in which he averaged 16 points, three assists, and three rebounds on 42 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range.
