NBA candidates with something to prove: Ja Morant and Zion Williamson

Prior to the abrupt NBA hiatus, the battle for the NBA’s Rookie of the Year was beginning to surely shape itself into a wild finish. Even with its return, we can find Ja Morant and Zion Williamson pick up where they left off. Both are on the cusp of leading their teams to the playoffs and showcasing themselves as bonafide leaders of their young teams.

It would only seem fair that whoever finishes with the better record and advances their team to the playoffs should win ROTY.

NBA candidates with something to prove: Joel Embiid

There have always been questions about Joel Embiid’s work ethic on the court. Some days he is the dominant big man we feel he can be while other days he regresses. By the time the season resumes, Embiid will have had almost a four-month layoff.

In addition to that, the 76ers have the worst road record of all current playoff teams out in the east. Will Embiid take the next step?
