NBA: 9 players and 3 coaches with the most to prove as play resumes
NBA candidates with something to prove: Scott Brooks
Scott Brooks was supposed to take the Washington Wizards to the next level in the NBA. It certainly hurt his chances when John Wall went down last year, but he has not been the coach that Wizards fans hoped for. The team has consistently struggled and has never played to expectations.
If they cannot upend the Orlando Magic, then it would appear that Brooks has coached his last game for the Wizards.
NBA candidates with something to prove: Luke Walton
I have never been high on Luke Walton as the leader of the Sacramento Kings. They certainly fell flat this season after coming just short of the playoffs the year before. They have their chance again to make some noise and maybe squeak in as the eighth seed. With everyone healthy, it is on Walton to make sure that his Kings’ play to the hype.
NBA candidates with something to prove: Brett Brown
Brett Brown was in trouble from the early start of the season. The last two seasons for the Philadelphia 76ers have left the team with a poor taste in their mouth despite all the talent at Brown’s disposal.
An imminent first-round series against the Boston Celtics could mark the end of the Brett Brown era and have 76ers fans trusting the process in another coach.
