Saving the Sacramento Kings, step 1: Revamp the front office

When a team looks to renew their success, in most cases they turn to revamp their front office. The Kings haven’t made the playoffs in the five seasons that Vlade Divac has been at the helm, the Kings have failed to make the playoffs. Is it time to move in a new direction?

Apart from Fox, the Kings haven’t been great at drafting over the last few seasons. Taking it a step further, the front office’s roster construction hasn’t exactly panned out either (in free agency or via trade).

Perhaps it’s time for the team to take a more innovative approach when it comes to the front office. Sacramento could look to follow the lead of Utah and Indiana, similar small-market franchises that have smartly drafted and have made timely trades to inch their way back to relevancy.
