NBA’s best odds: Nuggets to win Northwest Division (-189)

No one likes placing bets on favorites for less than even money, but, without exception, all sports betters love random “hot tips” that can be used to talk themselves into a bet even though that hot tip likely won’t impact anything.

Things like: player x was seen out late the night before a game, player y’s injury is worse than people think, the z team had a players-only meeting before the game, etc. This bet has an all-time great hot tip: skinny Jokic.

By now, most people have seen the dramatic weight loss that Jokic has achieved over the last few months, seamlessly pulling off the reverse-JaMarcus Russell. Who knows if his new weight will have any impact on how well the Nuggets play, but they’re also 1.5 games up on a Jazz team whose two best players may or might not have a rocky relationship right now.
