A win-win Julius Randle trade proposal for the New York Knicks
No one knew what exactly to make of this year’s New York Knicks team, other than the fact that they’d struggle to be any sort of competitive in the Eastern Conference. Their offseason was built on the hope of getting Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant with the potential addition of Zion Williamson to the fold as well.
When that all failed, the Knicks pivoted to sign nearly every mid-tiered power forward to their roster. With the biggest of such additions being 25-year old Julius Randle. He also happened to be the best free agent the team signed.
The problem is that as bad as the Knicks season has been, the hiring of new president Leon Rose has led to an actual vision for the future. Rose’s vision is not building around Randle however, it’s the young duo of RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson that have shown legitimate upside.
Rose’s new plan is beginning to leave Randle as the odd-man-out for Knicks’ future because he doesn’t fit with the team’s young talent. So how should the team move forward? We explore a potential trade that would make sense for all parties involved.
