What would the New York Knicks get?

Obviously, this trade will be more than just a one-for-one swap but for the Knicks, a deal centered around veteran forward Will Barton would be a great move.

Will Barton has been one of the most underrated players in the league, he’s a do it all forward that can come in and help any team he joins. With the emergence of rookie Micheal Porter Jr., the Nuggets might actually be best served to move away from Barton.

Will Barton on the Knicks gives the team, an excellent three-point shooter, a player who can facilitate offense in a pinch, and provide great defense. He would be a great fit for a Knicks team that was one of the worst shooting, and defensive teams in the league this past season.

More importantly, the veteran Barton would make an outstanding mentor for the young forwards on the Knicks roster. Having R.J. Barrett and the young Kevin Knox learning from Will Barton could be important in accelerating the pair’s development.
