New York Knicks: A win-win Julius Randle trade proposal
By Nick Alvarez
New York Knicks’ outlook
Starting a deal around Randle for Barton with maybe some low-level assets (role players, second-round picks) to finish the deal could be a win-win for both teams.
For the Nuggets, this move keeps them in the mix of the incredibly competitive Western Conference having Julius Randle fill in the production the team might lose at the power forward position in this year’s free agency.
For the Knicks, it could be a smart move that starts Leon Rose’s tenure with the team, taking advantage of another team’s roster dilemmas. Acquiring Will Barton shows that the Knicks are committed to both being competitive while also developing their young players.
The Knicks would fill their small forward position and then only need to focus on acquiring a lead guard, and floor stretching big man.
