NBA prediction No. 9: Toronto will take a step back

Taking nothing away from the Toronto Raptors, they’ve been great during the regular season. In fact, they were the second-best team in the Eastern Conference for much of the season pre-hiatus. However, despite that, there’s no question that I have my doubts about this team and how they might stack up in the postseason with some of their counterparts in the East.

Naturally, many of those doubts revolve around Pascal Saikam and his ability to be a true No. 1 option in the postseason. It’s one thing to do that in the regular season, but it’s an entirely different thing to do so when teams are game-planning against you on a nightly basis.

I believe the Raptors will take an unfortunate step back when the NBA season resumes. The playoffs have always been about star power, and I’m not sure the Raptors have as many stars as some of the other Eastern Conference teams.
