X-factor: Mike Conley

With Bojan Bogdanovic slated to miss the resumption of the season, there remains a big hole in the Utah Jazz’s offensive production. That’s a hole that potentially Mike Conley could fill. Bogdanovic was the team’s second-leading scorer behind Donovan Mitchell. It’s unlikely that one player will be able to replace his production, but if anyone can it has to be Conley.

Conley was on pace for a disappointing season in 2019-20, so much so that he lost his starting spot momentarily. It’ll be interesting to see how the Jazz operates when the season resumes, but there’s no question that if Utah is going to make a deep playoff run they’re going to need Conley to be a big part of their success.

While there will still be the same fit issues, the hope is that Conley could find a role that will place him in a better opportunity to contribute to the team’s offense. If so, perhaps that could unlock this team’s potential with Bogdanovic officially out.
