San Antonio Spurs (27-36)

X-factor: Bryn Forbes

There’s no denying that the San Antonio Spurs aren’t sitting in the best position. During the hiatus, it was announced that LaMarcus Aldridge would miss the remainder of the season and restart. Even fully healthy, the Spurs were facing a tall task in making the playoffs. Now, that likely gets a little more difficult.

The Spurs will likely have to replace Aldridge’s production by committee. That means each player will have to step up in one manner. One interesting name to keep an eye on is Bryn Forbes. He’s started nearly every game for the Spurs this season and has been quite efficient from 3-point range.

If he can take his game to the next level, it might be the key to San Antonio being bigger factors in the Western Conference than many envisioned. The Spurs will have as good as a chance as any team, especially with Gregg Popovich, but it won’t come easy.
