Brooklyn Nets:

X-factor: Caris LeVert

Caris LeVert missed a good portion of the regular season but was beginning to play excellent basketball just as the hiatus was implemented. With the possibility that the Nets could be without Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Spencer Dinwiddie when the season restarts, LeVert will `have to take a much bigger role than anticipated.

That might be something the Nets could live with based on how good LeVert looked during the month of March. In those five games, in which the Nets went 4-1 over that stretch, LeVert was averaging 27 points, six rebounds, and six assists per game on 50 percent shooting from the field and 44 percent shooting from 3-point range.

His sudden resurgence also included a 51-point outburst to open the month of March. If LeVert can pick up where he left off when the season was forced into a hiatus, there’s no question that the Nets should be able to hold onto the 7th or 8th seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
