Predicting the NBA’s 2019-20 individual awards

The NBA is slated to officially resume (and conclude) the 2019-20 season starting July 30, when the 22 teams invited into the league’s bubble in Orlando begins its eight seeding games ahead of the start of the playoffs.

However, one portion of the traditional season is in the books. The NBA announced that the races for the seasons’s individual awards are officially over. Voting for the individual awards will reflect the season prior to the hiatus and will take place before the restart of the season.

Objectively, it makes a ton of sense. There are only 22 teams that will be playing in the restart and it would be unfair for the individual award races to continue for some players and not for others that won’t be participating in the restart.

Now that the NBA individual award races are technically concluded, this is a great chance to take a few minutes to look back at the 2019-20 season and turn in our final predictions for award season.

We begin with the NBA’s Coach of the Year award, where a few old faces reemerged as contenders for the hardware.
