21. Denver Nuggets (Houston) – Josh Green, G, Arizona
As one of the better teams in the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets could select any number of players at this point in the draft. Adding Josh Green would solidify the team’s depth in the backcourt. Green, during his freshman season at Arizona, averaged 12 points and five rebounds on 36 percent from 3-point range.
There are questions about Green’s offensive efficiency, but in the Nuggets’ system, he will have the luxury of growing and developing behind Jamal Murray and Gary Harris. Plus, playing next to Nikola Jokic will make his transition to the NBA level much easier.
Green won’t need to produce right away for the Nuggets, but he’ll have the opportunity to play a role (almost initially) while developing at the same time.
