24. Utah Jazz – Vernon Carey Jr., C, Duke
The Utah Jazz has a big decision to make on Rudy Gobert’s future with the team. However, I don’t think they can proceed with that hanging over its head. They have to assume he’s going to be with the team moving forward on the basketball court.
However, when it comes to the NBA Draft, the Jazz will have the opportunity to add some insurance to the frontcourt position. Vernon Carey Jr. is one option for the Jazz late in the first round.
Averaging 18 points and nine rebounds per game during his freshman season at Duke, Carey could be seen as a bit of a risk considering the recent history of Duke big men. With that said, this is a player that could be worthwhile for the Jazz. Especially with the unknown that comes with Rudy Gobert’s future.
