New Orleans Pelicans vs. Utah Jazz: 3 takeaways from the restart opener
Brandon Ingram picked up where he left off
During the regular season, even before Zion returned from injury, it was Brandon Ingram that was carrying much of the load on the Pelicans’ offense early on. In what would end up being a career year for the fourth-year player out of Duke, Ingram averaged 24 points, six rebounds, and four assists per game during the regular season.
In the NBA’s re-opening game, Ingram scored xx points and grabbed xx rebounds. While most of the attention, and deservedly so, surround Zion, if the Pelicans are going to make the playoffs in the Western Conference Ingram will have to play a big role.
At least through the first game of the restart, Ingram picked up where he left off. It’s a good sign for the Pelicans as a team and for Ingram’s progression. If there were any concerns about how Ingram would look four months removed from his breakout season, those have pretty much quelled.
Brandon Ingram looked especially good.
