18. Memphis Grizzlies
Before the hiatus was implemented, the Memphis Grizzlies were one of the best feel-good stories of the season. They raced off with the 8th seed and Ja Morant ran away with the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award. However, injuries and a much more difficult schedule appear to have finally caught up with the team.
The loss of Jaren Jackson Jr. might’ve been the final nail in the coffin for this team. Even if they do manage to hold off the Spurs, Blazers, or Pelicans, the Grizzlies won’t pose much of threat to a team like the Lakers in the first round. Breaking news. Still, no matter how their season ends, it’s been a great success for Ja Morant and the rest of the young players on this roster.
The future is bright for the Grizzlies. This is just the beginning for Morant. The question is, how far could this team rise in the competitive Western Conference? We’ll find out sooner or later, but next year should be exciting again for Memphis.
