17. Orlando Magic
Despite the up-and-down performance in the NBA’s restart bubble, the Orlando Magic have locked themselves into the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. They’re set to face-off against the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs and, quite frankly, they’re going to need all the luck that they can get.
The Magic have had their moments, but this is a team that just lost Jonathan Isaac to a bad knee injury and who knows if Aaron Gordon will be 100 percent at any point in the playoffs. The Magic have been a good story over the last two seasons, but this is a team that needs to take a big jump next season.
Orlando needs to prove that this is a core that they can continue to build around. I’m not sure how they can prove that in this postseason, especially against the Bucks, but there has to be that signal from the players to the front office at some point.
If not, there are some big decisions that will need to be made. And there’s no guarantee for any player on this roster being safe.
