Will Lillard’s supporting cast step up?
We all know that Lillard is an elite player in this league, and we all know the damage he can do, But what about the supporting cast of players around? Lillard and his partner in crime, CJ McCollum, are arguably the best backcourt duo in the NBA averaging a combined 52 points per game.
Lillard also has other options with big men Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins, who are capable of impacting a game with their unique skill sets. Both players can take any pressure off of Lillard while forcing opponents to account for their ability to score and make plays.
The Blazers also have young, inexperienced players on their roster which may become a concern if Coach Terry Stotts is forced to insert one of these players into the rotation in the event of an injury to another player or any other scenario.
The Portland Trail Blazers should have enough veteran leadership and should be able to adjust accordingly come playoff time.
