NBA Playoffs 2020: 3 storylines and a prediction for Bucks vs. Magic
This is an important series for Aaron Gordon (assuming he’s healthy)
For Aaron Gordon, the 2019-20 NBA season has been overall disappointing. In the end, it will be looked back as a disappointment because he took a step back statistically. Just when it seemed like he had turned the corner as a player two seasons ago, this will be the second-straight year in which he’s seen a downtick in production.
This season, Gordon averaged 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists on 44 percent shooting from the field and 31 percent shooting from 3-point range. More than anything, he’s left the Magic with more questions regarding his potential as a foundational piece for the franchise. There were even whispers about his availability at the NBA Trade Deadline. In the end, the Magic didn’t trade Gordon and he’ll eventually have to prove that he’s unmovable.
This series could be the perfect opportunity. With Jonathan Isaac out due to injury, Gordon will have to emerge as a game-changer for the Magic to be any type of competitive against a team as stacked as the Bucks. Plus, he needs to prove that he’s a player that can take that next step into potential stardom.
Assuming he’s healthy, Aaron Gordon will have an opportunity to silence his critics. Most importantly, he’ll also have a chance to prove his worth to Orlando.
