NBA Mock Draft. 6.0: Kings land LaMelo Ball; Warriors snag James Wiseman
10. Washington Wizards – Aaron Nesmith, F, Vanderbilt
Expect a run on 3-and-D wings somewhere towards the end of the NBA Draft Lottery. If we’ve seen a trend at all in the NBA over the last few seasons, it’s that those are the types of players that often grow into stars – you know, the Kawhi Leonard and Paul George types. Could Aaron Nesmith be the next of that group next to Vassell?
Nesmith might be the best 3-point shooter in this draft, as he’s coming off a season in which he hit 52 percent of his 3’s during his sophomore season at Vanderbilt. What is most impressive is that he hit that on eight(!!) attempts per game. Nesmith didn’t just get lucky, he was chucking them and hitting them at a high clip.
Who knows how Nesmith’s game will transition when he gets to the NBA, but this is a player that can stroke it. If that’s all he can do, there’s still a great chance that he’ll be able to find a role on any team that selects him.
