29. Toronto Raptors – Nico Mannion, G, Arizona
Nico Mannion sneaks into the first round and has the potential to be the leader of a second unit off the bench. He still has to prove that he can be a consistent 3-point shooter, especially in today’s NBA. That’s totally fine. For a young player, he is still growing.
The Raptors have proven to be one of the better franchises at developing prospects. Could Mannion be the next man to step-in, especially if they can’t re-sign Fred VanVleet during the offseason?
30. Boston Celtics (via Milwaukee) – Jaden McDaniels, F, Washington
With the final pick in the first round, the Boston Celtics take another big in hopes of finally solidifying their frontcourt. Jaden McDaniels averaged 13 points, six rebounds, and two assists on 34 percent shooting from 3-point range.
At 6-foot-9, McDaniels could provide the Celtics with a versatile big that could find his way into the rotation sooner rather than later.
