2020 NBA Draft Lottery results
Not to be outdone by the NBA playoffs, the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery took place Thursday night and it didn’t disappoint. With many potential narratives on the table, there was theater and excitement throughout the night.
The 2020 NBA Draft is headlined by LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, and James Wiseman – each player will likely be a top 5 pick and each of them has a chance of being the top overall pick as well. With no clear No. 1 overall prospect in this specific draft class, it brought some added intrigue to the lottery.
In the lottery, you had the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Minnesota Timberwolves all with a 14 percent chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick. High profile franchises like the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls weren’t far behind with the sixth and seventh-best odds, respectively, of landing the No. 1 pick too.
In the end, it was the Minnesota Timberwolves winning the lottery for the second time in team history. Rounding out the top 4 was the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, and Chicago Bulls.
Here are the official results from the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery:

Now that the 2020 NBA Draft order is officially set, it’ll be interesting to see how this draft season unravels. The league is in the midst of unprecedented times and there’s no question this draft will fall under that same category. The hope is that there’s at least some normalization that transpires between now and the start of next season, but there’s no guarantee of that.
