1. New York Knicks landing LaMelo Ball

Surprise, surprise. The best possible results from the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery include LaMelo Ball finding his way to the New York Knicks. What that exactly means is a bit blurry. One way or another, we need Ball to be drafted by the Knicks. New York needs star power and that’s what Ball will provide them. Not to mention he’d be an intriguing fit next to RJ Barrett in the team’s backcourt.

I’m not sure how far up the Knicks would have to jump in the lottery for this to actually happen, but I’m here for it. And so should you. The NBA is better overall – popularity and narrative-wise – when the Knicks are relevant. You can make fun of this franchise all you want, but there’s no question that the league is more intriguing with a competitive Knicks.

Getting LaMelo Ball under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden (assuming we start playing basketball games in arenas again) with the LaVar Ball back in the fold would be quite the turn for 2021. Let’s hope the New York Knicks can jump into the top 3 at the very least, if not win the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery altogether.
