4. Chicago Bulls – Deni Avdija, F, Maccabi Tel Aviv
Of all the players that will be selected in the top 10, there might not be a bigger hit-or-miss player selected that Deni Avdija. And that’s OK. That’s kind of what the NBA Draft is anyways. Nevertheless, taking a chance on Avdija comes with franchise-changing potential. Avdija is the most highly touted foreign player in this draft and has plenty of traits to like.
On the surface, Avdija, at 6-foot-9, will likely be able to play both forward positions in the NBA. His shooting has to continue improving – he shot just 44 percent from the field and 27 percent from 3-point range this past season – if he’s going to be a consistent threat in the NBA, but that will likely come with time and development.
Avdija could be the next international star, but any team that takes him will need to be patient with him as a prospect.
